Supporting The Run

by admin on 30 July, 2010

Runners taking part in The Run ’10 will have an extra boost this year if they are sign up through Trilogy Gyms, even if they are not gym members.

Last year over 2,500 people took part in The Run, and this year’s is set to be even bigger. With The Run only a couple of months away Northampton Borough Council’s leisure services are helping runners who sign up through Trilogy Gyms with their training and will be rewarding them at the event.

In the build up to the event Trilogy Gym staff will be organising outdoor training sessions to help runners improve their stamina and technique. These coaching sessions will not only give runners the chance to train together but will also help improve fitness and may help to avoid injury.

In September Trilogy Gym will be teaming up with The Sweatshop to offer gait analysis sessions to help runners with final preparations. Experts will be on hand to help runners with their running style and advise on footwear.

Runners who sign up to The Run ’10 through Trilogy Gyms will also receive an exclusive entry pack. This will include a t-shirt, water bottle, free class voucher, entry into a prize draw and access to a Trilogy Gym massage area at the finish line.

Councillor Paul Varnsverry, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for leisure services said: “The Borough Council actively promotes and supports sport in all its forms across the town. In support of The Run ’10, our Trilogy Gyms are working in conjunction with The Sweatshop to offer a very useful package of training and other support which we trust runners will find beneficial. We hope that, with our expert coaches’ tips and assistance, competitors will find it easier to go the distance.”

Spaces are limited, and Trilogy members must sign up by Monday 20 September. For more information please call Northampton Borough Council’s Trilogy team on 01604 838333 or visit www.northampton.gov.uk/trilogy.
